EUCLID Newsletter 6 - September 2018

The third year of EUCLID project was also the first year of EUCLID Innovation Demonstration Network. This is a crucial activity for the project as it brings to the field the innovative research work carried out within the lab.

A field visit to an EUCLID demonstration site for lettuce in the province of Torino, Italy, was organized by partner AGROINNOVA on July 3rd 2018, in the context of a Summer School on emerging pests and diseases in horticultural crops.

IRTA and UdL organized a “lettuce demonstration day” on May 23th 2018 at IRTA Cabrils (Barcelona, Spain). The field visit was attended by 20 farmers and technicians to whom the different management techniques used in the EUCLID plot vs. the conventional plot were explained.

IRTA and UdL organized a greenhouse tomato demonstration day on July 10, 2018 at IRTA Cabrils (Barcelona, Spain), attended by 30 farmers and technicians, mainly pest control advisers. The field training offered a greenhouse visit linked to the management techniques developed in WP1-2.

INRA-Avignon organized a filed visit to its tomato demonstration trial on July 5th 2018. The aim of the visit was to offer a comparison between conventional and IPM crop implementing innovations from EUCLID.

A technical workshop involving 60 vine-growing experts was held in Tarragona (ES) on May 31, 2018,  to discuss about the pesticide dose decision tool developed by EUCLID project, DOSE3D.
