On June 4, students of the Master in Integrated Pest Management at the University of Lleida visited the EUCLID tomato demo field that is being carried out at the IRTA facilities in Cabrils (Barcelona).
The students were accompanied by Professor Ramón Albajes, one of the professors of the master and member of the scientific team of EUCLID.
Although organized by the University of Lleida, the master's degree has the enrollment of three other Spanish universities: University of Girona, University Jaume I of Castellón and BarcelonaTech (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya). Its objective is to prepare specialists in crop protection with the technical and theoretical skills necessary to be employed in the modern crop protection industry or in the academy. The study of the techniques and strategies that allow the reduction and rationalization of the use of pesticides and the development of other control methods form the central axis of the studies covered by the Master.
During the visit, the students were informed of the EUCLID alternatives that are being tested in the demo field and the results obtained so far.
