The first year of the EUCLID project has been quite productive; all work packages have made significant progress toward the various main goals of the project.

At the end of 2015, France has published the second version of its National Action Plan, named ÉCOPHYTO II which reconfirms France ambition to cut pesticides’ use by 50% over the course of a decade.
“Ecophyto ll” is based on seven principles which are translated into six areas of action, comprising a broad range of measures, and including a variety of tasks among which are the changing of practices and systems, and the boosting of research, development and innovation.

Within EUCLID project, partner AgriNewTech has been carrying out some major research work in Year 1 within WP1 (Optimisation and adaptation of current pest management methods) and WP2 (Development of innovative pest management products and approaches). The work process is worth mentioning as it indicates the possibility to use good source of organic matter like compost to control soil-borne disease.
